For with much wisdom comes much sorrow; the more knowledge, the more grief.

식자우환이라는 말씀이 성경에도 나오네요. 몰랐으면 아무 일 없었을 것을 알아서 신경쓰이고 걱정하게 되는 일이 세상에는 많이있다.

a time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.

아무리 사랑하는 사람들끼리도 미워할 때가 생긴다. 그리고 다시 화해하고 산다.

I know that there is nothing better for men than to be happy and do good while they live.

So I saw that there is nothing better for a man than to enjoy his work, because that is his lot. For who can bring him to see what will happen after him?

위의 글들에 대한 결론이라고 말할 수도 있겠다. 선을 행하고 행복하게 사는 것보다 더 좋은 일은 없다는 말씀-  이건 온갖 부귀영화를 누려본 사람의 말이니 귀담아 들어야...

좋아하는 일을 하되 선을 행하고 욕심내지 말고 즐겁고 행복하게 살라는 말씀.

As a dream comes when there are many cares, so the speech of a fool when there are many words.

말이 많으면 쓸데없는 말도 생기고 바보같은 소리도 나오게 마련이다. 知者不言 言者不知(지자불언 언자부지)라는 노자의 말이 생각난다.

Is there anything of which one can say, "Look! This is something new"? It was here already, long ago; it was here before our time.
