The next day Paul took the men and purified himself along with them.

Then he went to the temple to give notice of the date when the days of purification would end

and the offering would be made for each of them.

He at once took some officers and soldiers and ran down to the crowd.

When the rioters saw the commander and his soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.

The commander came up and arrested him and ordered him to be bound with two chains.

Then he asked who he was and what he had done.

 

바울과 신자들이 잔머리를 굴린다.

율법에 얽메인 자들에게 잘 보이려고 마음에도 없는 짓을 하지만 그 결과는 그리 만족스럽지 못하다.

얻어맞고 사슬에 묶이는 일을 당한다.

그렇다고 유대인들이 죽이려고 하는데 아무 것도 안하고 원래 자기 소신대로 밀고 나가는 것이 잘 한

일일까?

어차피 핍박을 당할 일이라면 자기가 옳다고 믿는대로 하는 것이 더 좋을까?

아니면 잔머리 굴리는 일도 잘못하는 일은 아니니까 할만큼 해보는 것이 좋을까?

타협을 하는 것이 좋은가? 

그냥 밀고 나가는 것이 좋은가?
