6. For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.

 And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

이 귀절은 전통적으로 메시아의 탄생을 예언한 말로 이해된다. Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 에서  Mighty God, Everlasting Father 라는 표현은 다른 사람에게는 어울리지 않는 표현같아보인다. Wonderful Counselor나 Prince of Peace는 다른 위대한 왕들에게도 어느 정도 가능하지만 위 두 표현은 다른 인간에게 상징적인 표현이라면 몰라도 구체적인 표현은 될 수 없을 것 같다.

 

7. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. H

e will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom,

establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever.

The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.

그는 정의와 공의로 다스리신다.

 

 

10:15. Does the ax raise itself above him who swings it, or the saw boast against him who uses it?

As if a rod were to wield him who lifts it up, or a club brandish him who is not wood!

도구가 그 사용자를 능가할 수는 없다.
