13.  Stop bringing meaningless offerings! Your incense is detestable to me. New Moons,

      Sabbaths and convocations-- I cannot bear your evil assemblies.

14. Your New Moon festivals and your appointed feasts my soul hates.

      They have become a burden to me; I am weary of bearing them.

15. When you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide my eyes from you;

      even if you offer many prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are full of blood;

 

죄악을 뉘우치지 않고 번제물만 가져오고 절기만 지키는 것은 하나님께서 싫어하신다.

이런 상태에서는 기도해도 듣지 않으신다.

말씀에 순종하고 그 뜻대로 따르는 자라야 그 기도도 들으시고 예배도 즐겨 받으신다는 말씀.

다시 말하면 잘못을 회개하지 않고 그것을 만회하는 수단으로 기도하고 예배하는 것은 하나님께서 가증히

여기신다.

아모스 선지자를 통해 네 비파소리도 듣지 않으시리라고 하신 말씀이나 이 말씀이 같은 맥락에서 이해된다.
