Ecclesiastes 11:9, 12:12~13 2017-05-19 08:29:26

 

Be happy, young man, while you are young,

and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth.

Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see,

but know that for all these things God will bring you to judgment.

 

하고 싶은 일을 하되 하나님의 심판이 있다는 사실을 기억하라.

항상 즐기고 살되 바르게 행동하고 거기에서 행복을 찾으라.

 

Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them.

Of making many books there is no end,

and much study wearies the body.

 

Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter:

Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.

 

책을 만드는 것은 끝이 없다는 것은 공부가 끝이 없다는 말이겠지?

그리고 공부를 너무 많이 하는 것은 몸을 피곤하게 만든다.

이 말은 절의 스님들이 책 보지 말고 생각하라는 말과 같지 않을까?

자기들은 공부를 다 해봤으니까 그런 말을 할 수 있는 것이겠지.

솔로몬도 같은 입장에서 한 말이 아닐까?

우리가 그 정도 내공이 없으니까 이해를 못하는 것일 수도 있겠지.
